Ministry of Infrastructure. 

The Ministry of Infrastructure has 6 departments including Road, Transport, Tourism Policy and Coordination Department (RTITPCD), and has 8 agencies including Mongolian National Tourism Board (MTB). RTITPCD is currently responsible for formulation of tourism sector policy and coordination.

Mongolian Tourism Board (MTB).

The Mongolian Tourism Board (MTB) is the independent implementing agency of the Ministry of Infrastructure that is responsible for the implementation of laws and regulations, and development of standards and norms related to tourism, and the support of tourism businesses through market research and tourism promotion. The MTB was created in May 1, 1999 under the name "National Tourism Centre (NTC) and then it was reorganised into the Tourism Board in September 9,2000. The budget for the Board is approved by Parliament and allocated by the Ministry of Finance and Economics in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure. The MTB is headed by a Director and Deputy Director, and has two divisions and four overseas representative offices. The marketing Division is responsible for the overseas market and statistical data research, surveys of domestic tourist organisations and NGOs, new product development and liaison with international and foreign organisations. The Service Coordination and Human Resource Division is responsible for issues related to hotels, tour camps and guides, domestic sanato-riums, services and transportation, human resource development and training.

Mongolian Tourism Association (MTA).

MTA was established in 1994, and has over 60 member private tour operators that represent the best of Mongolia's tour operators and hotels. The main focus of MTA, as they state is to increase the quality of tourism facilities and services in Mongolia to enable all visitors to experience the best of Mongolia and to work in partnership with government agencies to promote Mongolia as a culturally, historically and environmentally unique destination. According to the statistics, over 80 percent of leisure tourists visiting Mongolia arrange their travel through MTA member tour operators.

Mongolian National Eco-Tourism Society (MNETS).

The Mongolian National Eco-Tourism Society (MNETS) was founded as a socially oriented nongovernmental organization on 5th April, 1995 by twenty-three members who wished to develop environmental and socially sustainable tourism in Mongolia. The society currently has 25 members and 183 researchers in the field of tourism, as well as students and people who are supporting the goals of the society.

Mongolian Youth Tourism Association (MYTA).

The MYTA was established in December 1998 to promote the participation of young people in the intensively developing tourism industry of Mongolia, to promote travel of young foreign people to Mongolia and promote the travelling of young Mongolians abroad. The Youth Tourism Association has approximately 460 members.
