At present there is the "Sukhbaatar" ship, 3 barges and over 30 motorboats on Khuvsugul Lake. There are also more than 20 motor-boats in operation in Khovd, Dornod and Selenge aimags. In spite of its status as a landlocked country, Mongolia has generated an income of US$100,000 since 2000 from sea transport through the registration of ships (300 so far). Technical control is handled by French and Japanese professional organizations.
